What can I say? I’m a sucker for a pretty book and wanted to start making them myself, so I did. I absolutely love working with people to make custom book designs and genuinely get so much happiness from seeing people who like my books.
What is ColourMeCricket?
A small Canadian business started by a love of pretty books and a determination to bring unique nerdy items to likeminded people.
I run the shop out of a spare bedroom in my home and the entire team consists of me, myself and I with the occasional design consultation from friends and family.
Made to Order
All Book orders are made to order. This can mean longer processing times before shipping, but it ensures you have the ability to modify the books and get exactly what you want.
Unlike a lot of other painted edge companies I am not using a UV printer to transfer my designs. Every book is hand painted by me using stencils I designed and cut with my cricut.
Pretty Books, Functional Books
I feel the need to add this as it is shocking how many people ask if you can still read the books I paint!
Yes my books are still 100% readable and functional! There is no paint bleed onto the pages except for the occasional bit on the very first, and very last page. While I do my best to separate all the pages, some might still have parts attached but they are very easily separated without damage.
